Episode 9 Wordz

Our word-geniuses Joanna Coles, Adriana Trigiani and Maeve Higgins on Tell Me Something I Don't Know. (Photo: Lucy Sutton)

This episode is all about the written — or spoken, or programmed, or texted — word. Let’s start with the letter “A”: absenteeism, abbreviations, AI, advertisements and …a rising tide. Our panelists:

Joanna Coles, content editor for Hearst Magazines, definitely recognizes Justin Trudeau when she sees him.

Adriana Trigiani, author of eight New York Times best-sellers, has done this whole “game show” thing before.

Maeve Higgins, comedian and host of the podcast Maeve in America, just needs a tub full of peanut butter.

Our real-time fact-checker is Bourree Lam, writer for the Atlantic and former wordsmith for a once-great blog.

  • Hello – Great episode, as always, and not just because I was lucky enough to be a contestant! If anyone is looking for free resources on increasing attendance at their public school, please visit the awesome folks at Attendance Works (http://www.attendanceworks.org).

And anyone interested in learning more about applying to be a contestant on TMSIDK (or my company’s service to increase attendance and school funding), please read the blog post on my site at:

Big thanks to Emma, Brian, and Stephen at TMSIDK!

  • Oh. My. God. The panelists in this episode were the most annoying ever. They kept interrupting the contestants while they were trying to present their IDKs. The one guy with Watson was interrupted so many times, I honestly forgot what he was talking about. Oy. Please continue to instruct the panel on how to behave toward the contestants. They don’t have to fawn on them, but they should at least give them a chance to SAY SOMETHING.
